The VNG is a test of the inner ear and portions of the brain.  The VNG can help your doctor get a better understanding of the cause of your balance issues and/or dizziness. Here is what the test requires of you: It is important to get plenty of sleep the night before the test. During the VNG, we place goggles over your eyes to understand your eye movement. Also, during the test you will be given instructions to look at and track a lighted target. Your body will be recorded as well while you are lying in various positions. Lastly, your ears will be given warm and cool air to measure their response stimulus.
